The Dog Rose inhabits easterly coastal heaths and forests, from Tasmania to Queensland. In full sun, Dog Rose can grow into a robust shrub (1.5 m high by two metres wide), but grows straggly in shade.
The Dog Rose flowers most of the year in abundant glory after rain and warm temperatures, in spring and summer. This rich pink, rose-like flower grows singly. It shyly faces the ground concealing its pretty face from insects and sunlight.
